Jaeger LeCoultre 1950s WWW british army, issued. s/s case measures 35mm. screw back engraved. Original dial in nice condition. Powered by a manual movement Jlc cal. 479 in order working condition. The watch is in overall very good condition. In the early 50s, the British Ministry of Defense established the specifications for a military wristwatch for soldiers . The specifications are known as WWW (Wrist Watch Waterproof). Twelve were the watchmakers who responded to the requirements of the ministry: Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor and Vertex. These twelve watches are known among collectors as the dirty dozen.
