Rolex Submariner ref.5513 "Bart Simpson" ome of late gilt dial Submariners, so called as the points of the coronet were relatively flat and stubby, not unlike Bart Simpson’s hair. Made for a short period in the 1960s, this watch have much more character than other Subs. Like all gilt Submariners, these watches is "meters first," displaying the depth capability in meters (200m) before the equivalent depth in feet (660ft). It is also important to note that the gilt writing on Rolex dials was done first and then a lacquer coating was placed on top of the dial. These mid-1960s Subs also featured a tritium which makes an amazing patina on the lume. The watch is in overall nice and genuine condition, the insert is amazingn fitted on the original reveted s/s bracelet 7206 with the right 80 end links.
