S/S 1945 IWC Mark X British Army issued, one of the Dirty Dozen. The specification W.W.W. stands for Watch, Wristlet ( not a pocket watch) and Waterproof. W.W.W. is engraved on the case back along with the serial number 12061, the manufacturer code (M for IWC) and the broad arrow. In all there were 12 different brands who produced watches to this specification for the MoD, collectively they are referred to as “The Dirty Dozen”. The IWC version of the WWW is probably the most interesting of the WWW, the calibre 83 movement was regulated to chronometer standard and embodies the highest quality. The watch is in overall great condition for its age. Dial and hands are all original and in excellent condition. The stainless steel case measures 35mm. Powered by the manual winding movement cal.83 which runs well and keeps a proper time.
