Rolex ref. 16660 Triple Six serial 6 million, year 1983, Mark I matt dial, Full Set. The first Sea-Dweller with a sapphire crystal prized for its scratch resistance, does not include a Cyclops magnification lens above the date window. Stainless steel case, fits an unidirectional bezel instead of a bi-directional one, this is much safer for divers since overestimating immersions times is far better than underestimating them. The rare back case has the same batch as the preview model 1665, this detail is only in this serial range. Powered by the automatic housed Caliber 3035, quickset date feature, operated at a higher frequency—28,800 beats per hour. First batch dial, MKI featured a matte black dial without surrounds on the circular tritium hour markers. Plus, among these matte black dial the shorter Rolex coronet under 12 o’clock. The “f†in “ft†is above the letter “E†in “Superlative" written. The watch is in overall mint condition and comes with a very full set as pictured.
